Sigma Connectivity assembled a dedicated team with expertise in UX and UI design, addressing all customer requirements. The result is a handheld medical device with excellent ergonomic fit, designed for both home use and clinical settings.

This device significantly improves the lives of individuals with thyroid conditions, a common chronic disease. ThrolyticsTM enables a simple blood test from a fingertip drop, instantly generating fT3, fT4, TSH, and rT3 values. Patients can quickly share their results and potentially receive a personalized medical plan based on their test outcomes.

The Sigma Connectivity engineering & design team also contributed to this breakthrough by developing complex in-house algorithms that convert potentiostat readings into hormone concentrations. That involvement encompassed the development of customized electronics, mechanics, and firmware, as well as prototyping, startup, and rigorous testing phases.

Client had create a groundbreaking chemical technology for much more efficient testing of hormones. But needed Sigma/Lundinova (in collaboration with a Finnish fluid sample chip manufacturer) to create a design that would show how this technology would work as a product, and build functional prototypes for testing and marketing. The client was extremely happy with the collaboration with Sigma, especially highlighting how valuable the insights and input from Sigma was, not only in depth of technical know-how, but also on a much broader view with the design process bringing in valuable questions and insights regarding business and user needs and possibilities as well as technical possibilities and challenges.
